Andrew Malek, a licensed Professional Engineer in New York, New Jersey, and Florida, serves as the director of AKRF’s Engineering group.

Mr. Malek is an experienced project manager, and has overseen dozens of successful assignments throughout his 20-year career. He has extensive design, construction management, and consultant coordination experience on projects involving educational, residential, office, commercial, and industrial facilities. Mr. Malek has special expertise in the design of roadways, pedestrian access, stormwater drainage, sewer systems, utilities, and fire protection and site security systems. He has served in both supervisory and managerial positions, and has been responsible for implementing quality control measures, engineering specifications, and construction inspections.

Mr. Malek currently serves as project manager for the firm’s engineering services on the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) Environmental/Engineering Term Contract and for on-call Capital Improvement Projects for the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA). His recent experience includes major infrastructure-related projects in New York City, including the Riverside South Development, the No. 7 Subway Extension and Hudson Yards Redevelopment, and Columbia University’s proposed Manhattanville Academic Mixed-Use Development. He also directs engineering projects on Long Island and throughout the Hudson Valley region.

Mr. Malek earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology.
