Edward Applebome is the firm's President and CEO and manages Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) for major land use applications.
In his more than 25 years of experience in the field, Mr. Applebome has managed planning and environmental studies for well over a hundred development projects. He has served as project director in AKRF's preparation of EISs for many prominent development initiatives sponsored by both private sector applicants and public agencies. These include Hudson River Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Bear Stearns World Headquarters, the Brooklyn Federal Courthouse, Steeplechase Baseball Stadium (now MCU Park) at Coney Island, the Citi Field, IKEA Red Hook, Gateway Center at Bronx Terminal Market, and the expansion of the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH). For the AMNH project, in addition to directing preparation of the EIS, he oversaw the firm's ongoing support services, including the preparation of a traffic management plan and a bus operations plan.
Mr. Applebome is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, has an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master's degree in planning from Harvard University.
