AKRF Brings Water Management Expertise To Pennsylvania’s MS4 PAG-13 Permitting Revisions
About Us
In light of Pennsylvania’s proposed revision to the MS4 PAG-13 permitting program, municipalities with discharges to a TMDL stream will now be required to retrofit stormwater facilities to meet TMDL objectives. AKRF’s Water Management team will apply its planning, design, and implementation expertise to assist municipalities in the Philadelphia region with the development and submission of a Stormwater TMDL Plan and permit renewal application.
AKRF has worked with the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) to design stormwater management and infiltration facilities and stream restoration projects, prepare conceptual BMP strategies, and develop protocols for the inspection and maintenance of Philadelphia’s green infrastructure. These projects are all intended to reduce pollutant and sediment loading to streams in the City of Philadelphia and are focused on meeting TMDL objectives.
The firm also helped develop Project Headwaters (www.projectheadwaters.org), a regional stream restoration program that takes a smarter, more active approach to urban watershed management.
