Future Roadways for New Staten Island Fresh Kills Park
With the completion of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the conversion of the Staten Island Fresh Kills landfill into a 2,200-acre park, AKRF is providing ongoing strategic traffic engineering services which involve the analysis of various active and passive uses, vehicular and pedestrian/bicycle paths, and area-wide transportation improvements.
AKRF performed detailed transportation analyses, including operational analyses and traffic signals system design, utilizing state-of-the-art traffic simulation programs.
We are providing the New York City Department of Design and Construction with extensive traffic engineering services including the evaluation of new future roadway design and highway connections. These services involve signing, pavement markings, traffic data collection and studies, and safety improvements.
AKRF continues to provide environmental analyses, documentation, and permitting, especially as the project design becomes more refined and project implementation moves forward.
