Benjamin Sachwald, Director of AKRF’s Acoustics, Noise, and Vibration group, specializes in architectural acoustics, environmental noise and vibration, and mechanical systems. During his 12 years at AKRF, he has provided innovative acoustical consulting services for architects, developers, engineers, and others in the design and construction community. He has extensive experience dealing with the New York City Noise Control Code, New York City Department of Buildings Code, and Noise (E) designation compliance.
Mr. Sachwald is a New York City Department of Environmental Protection Approved Noise Consultant, and a graduate of the University of Hartford, with a BSME in Mechanical Engineering and a specialization in Acoustics. He has given lectures on noise issues at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service of New York University, served as a guest acoustical expert for The Brian Lehrer Show, and has been interviewed as an acoustical expert in various publications including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
