Fred Jacobs, Ph. D., head of the firm's Natural Resources group and the Baltimore/Washington office, has more than 35 years of experience in natural resources, waterfront development, and regulatory compliance.
Dr. Jacobs’s particular expertise is in projects that focus on the environmental impact of changing land use activities on water quality and biological communities in upland, wetland, estuarine, and freshwater habitats. He also has considerable experience in procuring environmental permits from governmental agencies on behalf of numerous clients. Most recently, he has directed studies for public and private sector clients in Maryland, New Jersey, and New York on a wide range of issues that include dredging, fisheries, wetlands, water quality assessments and certifications, and stormwater impacts.
Dr. Jacobs holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in marine science from the University of Virginia and a B.S. in biology from the City College of New York.
