Robert Caravella, P.E., is a Senior Vice President with over 15 years of site, civil, and environmental engineering design experience in the residential, commercial, and industrial realms for local and state governmental entities, and project developers.
Mr. Caravella provides extensive support for projects requiring grading and drainage improvements, stormwater and wastewater management, soil erosion and sediment control, site development, roadway reconstruction, utility layout, construction monitoring, and transportation engineering consultation services. He has been responsible for construction oversight, site inspections, contractor coordination, preparation of field reports/record-keeping and shop drawing reviews.
He served as the Project Manager (PM) for the reconstruction and extension of West 129th Street in Harlem, NY, under AKRF’s contract with Civil Builders in collaboration with the New York City Housing Authority and Harlem Children’s Zone. Mr. Caravella has also served as PM for Capital Improvement projects at schools throughout New York City under AKRF’s On-Call Architecture and Engineering Services contract with the New York City School Construction Authority. In addition, his work has included the NY Wheel project on Staten Island; the Belt Parkway Bridges Replacement/Rehabilitation project in Brooklyn, NY; the Kings Theatre Renovation in Brooklyn; Construction of 57th Avenue in Queens; and many other public/private developments within the five boroughs of NYC.
Mr. Caravella holds an M.S. in Construction Management and a B.E. in Civil Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
