Hudson Tunnel Project Record of Decision and FEIS Complete

The Hudson Tunnel Project reached a notable milestone on May 28, 2021, when the Federal Railroad Administration, Federal Transit Administration, NJ TRANSIT, and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey completed the combined Record of Decision and Final Environmental Impact Statement. The project – one component of the Gateway Program – will construct a new railroad tunnel under the Hudson River and fully rehabilitate the existing tunnel, which was badly damaged during Superstorm Sandy. AKRF led a consultant team in preparing environmental analyses and documentation for the project in accordance with NEPA requirements.
