New laboratory and academic facilities bridging over the FDR drive in Manhattan
Alexandria Center for Life Science
The Alexandria Center for Life Science along Manhattan’s East River currently comprises 728,000 rentable square feet in its East and West Towers, both of which are certified LEED Gold. Upon completion of the North Tower the campus will total 1.3 million rentable square feet of Class A office and laboratory space and amenities. AKRF prepared the Environmental Impact Statement pursuant to CEQR for the overall project (then named the East River Science Park) and recently prepared an Environmental Assessment Statement for a zoning override to allow construction of the North Tower to proceed. Key environmental analyses performed by AKRF have included land use, zoning and public policy; neighborhood character; open space; and community facilities.
