Gowanus 1st Street Reconstruction

The development of a new residential building at 365 Bond Street in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood called for the construction of a cul-de-sac at the end of 1st Street. AKRF provided full-time resident engineering services for the construction, testing, and inspection of both the new storm sewer and replacement water main in 1st Street. Our responsibilities included review and approval of all shop drawings, fabrication details, and various other details related to the work as well as daily oversight of the installation of the new utilities. AKRF previously served as civil engineer for the infrastructure upgrades, including reconstruction of the existing water main and electrical structures in 1st Street as well as installation of new street lights and building transformer vaults.
