Philadelphia Green Infrastructure Research, Planning & Design

For over a decade, AKRF has been among the Philadelphia Water Department’s leading providers of green stormwater infrastructure planning, design, construction, maintenance, and monitoring, including extensive support of the Green City, Clean Waters Program since its inception. In addition to regional- and neighborhood-scale green infrastructure planning, design, and construction-phase services, we have provided program development support to the Office of Watersheds as well as regulatory consulting, technical support, and outreach assistance. AKRF also provides full-delivery services for the Philadelphia Water Department’s stormwater management grant programs, including the Stormwater Management Incentives Program and the Greened Acre Retrofit Program. We have secured millions of dollars in SMIP grant funding, developed stormwater retrofit designs for over 100 commercial properties, and provided ongoing operation and maintenance services for over 600 stormwater management practices.
