Johns Hopkins University Stormwater Management Master Plan

AKRF was retained by Johns Hopkins University to prepare a comprehensive stormwater management master plan for the Homewood Campus in Baltimore, Maryland, to address regulatory targets and campus-wide sustainability goals over the course of a 20-year build-out period. The final plan included mapped conceptual design scenarios for each build-out phase, in addition to detailed design, plan administration, and maintenance guidance. The plan identified specific, actionable numeric targets for meeting the institution’s goals using a variety of approved Environmental Site Design practices such as micro-bioretention, green roofs, cisterns, and meadows. AKRF worked closely with a group of internal stakeholders to develop the plan, and facilitated planning workshops to develop goals, metrics, and targets. We continue providing ongoing support to implement the SWMMP, including updating the plan as projects are implemented and providing periodic progress reports to Baltimore City.
