LaGuardia Airport AirTrain

In June 2018, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo of the State of New York signed legislation to advance the process to design, study, and construct a new AirTrain light rail connection between LaGuardia Airport and the Long Island Rail Road and New York City Transit stations at Citi Field/Willets Point in Queens. The new system is expected to provide LaGuardia Airport travelers with a 30-minute trip to and from New York Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. The AirTrain would also serve as an on-airport transit system to facilitate transfers between airline terminals and provide connections to potential parking facilities and a consolidated rental car facility.
