New $1.5 billion, 750,000-square-foot cancer treatment facility in Manhattan
Memorial Sloan Kettering Nassau
Opened in 2019, MSK Nassau offers chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and other cancer care treatments in a new $180 million, 114,000-square-foot outpatient facility in Uniondale, New York. Our geotechnical engineering team coordinated the oversight of subsurface exploration contractors during the subsurface investigation; performed design calculations made for the shallow foundation system; performed uplift analysis of foundations; and designed tiedown anchors for the foundations as a result of high wind loads anticipated at the site. AKRF also led SEQRA environmental review and site assessment and remediation consulting services for the two-story facility, which houses medical exam and treatment spaces, a rehabilitation center with a gym, an on-site café, and a five-story parking garage.
