Etihad City Football Academy New York

A new training academy on 17 acres in Orangetown, New York, opened in 2018 for New York City Football Club, a professional soccer team in Major League Soccer. AKRF provided civil and geotechnical engineering design in conjunction with a site development plan application for the project, including the preparation of site demolition, layout, grading, drainage, utility, erosion control, and landscape plans. We designed a stormwater detention basin and bioretention basin to satisfy New York State Department of Environmental Conservation requirements for stormwater runoff mitigation and water quality, and prepared a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan in accordance with Town, County, and State standards. AKRF also prepared an Environmental Assessment Form pursuant to SEQRA for the new facility, which includes a 24,000-square-foot building, one and a half full-size soccer fields, a maintenance yard, parking improvements, and stormwater management.
