North Bergen Liberty Generating Station

The North Bergen Liberty Generating project proposed for a 15-acre site in North Bergen, New Jersey, will design and construct a 1,200-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant in close proximity to existing energy and utility infrastructure. The plant is expected to be 34% more efficient than the average plant serving the New York City area today. AKRF is providing multimedia environmental permitting for the proposed project, including the analysis of air quality, noise, natural resources, and other potential impacts. We are also supporting the installation of a natural gas lateral connecting to Con Edison’s nearby gas transmission system and a new force main from the Bergen County Utilities Authority’s Little Ferry Water Pollution Control Facility to provide reclaimed water to the site for use as process water make-up.
