TWA Hotel at JFK Airport

Through the restoration and reuse of Eero Saarinen’s historic TWA Flight Center at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, the new TWA Hotel opened in 2019 with 512 guestrooms, 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space, shops, restaurants, and the transformation of a Lockheed Constellation “Connie” aircraft into a cocktail lounge. AKRF prepared an Environmental Assessment and Section 4(f) Evaluation pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act to analyze environmental effects of the project during construction and operation. We delivered the project on an expedited schedule, working with the Federal Aviation Administration, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and other stakeholders throughout the process.
