Acoustic Building Attenuation Studies
AKRF provides building attenuation studies for a wide variety of projects, including those that have been required to meet New York City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR) guidelines, New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) requirements, and/or U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations.
Our acousticians perform site-specific sound measurements and undertake acoustical analyses to determine attenuation requirements at various façades and elevations. We work closely with the project architect on building façade design to ensure adequate window/wall attenuation.
The scope of our services includes:
- Noise surveys for residential, school, hospital, and commercial developments
- CEQR, HPD, HUD, Restrictive Declaration, and (E) designation design and compliance
- Building façade design and glazing studies
- Acoustical analyses/computer modeling to determine attenuation requirements at different façades/elevations
