Environmental Impact Assessment: Coastal Zone Consistency Review
AKRF has extensive experience preparing all environmental studies and required documents to support coastal zone consistency determinations made at the federal, state, and local level. In addition, we have worked with a number of municipalities to develop their local waterfront revitalization programs.
The federal Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 was established to support and protect the nation’s coastal zones. In accordance with this act, states have developed their own Coastal Zone Management Programs and in turn, local municipalities have developed local waterfront revitalization programs.
Projects that are proposed within the designated coastal zone must be consistent with the adopted coastal zone management and local waterfront revitalization programs.
The scope of our services includes:
- Federal Coastal Zone Consistency Review
- New York State Coastal Assessment
- New York City Waterfront Revitalization Program Consistency Assessment
- New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Federal Consistency Determinations
