AKRF provided geotechnical engineering services for a new residential development in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx, NY. The proposed development involves the construction of two new 12-story residential buildings located within the area of an existing parking lot between two existing residential buildings.
AKRF recommended the subsurface exploration be completed using multiple drill rigs to reduce the duration of field time required. AKRF provided full-time Special Inspection and completed the subsurface exploration ahead of schedule. This approach provided the client with significant cost savings.
AKRF developed recommendations for a deep foundation system and provided advanced foundation analysis for increased lateral foundation capacity.
Other advanced geotechnical analyses included site-specific liquefaction evaluation to address potentially liquefiable soils at the site.
AKRF is also providing site/civil engineering services for this project.
Our geotechnical engineering services for this project included:
- Historical research
- Subsurface exploration
- Foundation analysis and design
- Liquefaction evaluation
- Special Inspections
