Special Permit Approved for Tuxedo Farms Development in Tuxedo, NY

The Town of Tuxedo in Orange County, NY, approved a Special Permit for Related Companies’ Tuxedo Farms residential, commercial, and recreational development on 2,300 acres – over 1,700 acres of which will remain open and undeveloped land. The new Special Permit reorients the development to include “missing middle” housing and increases the total unit count to 1,609. AKRF was part of the original consultant team and has been working on this project since the late 1990s, preparing extensive SEQRA environmental planning, local permitting, and technical studies. For the current program, we analyzed the potential impacts of the increased unit count and prepared a detailed fiscal and school impact analysis.
