Water & Wastewater

A recent National Water Quality Inventory Report published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency found over 30 percent of wetlands and 40 percent of river and stream miles are in poor biological condition and over 20 percent of lakes are hypereutrophic. Solutions can be found, however, in smart science, creative problem solving, and the design of sustainable, resilient infrastructure.

Improving water quality in local communities is a staple of AKRF’s commitment to meeting stormwater, wastewater, potable water, and other municipal needs. Our water resources and wet weather practice has been engaged in Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington DC — including green stormwater infrastructure, natural channel design, stream restoration, water treatment and conveyance facilities, flood mitigation, and coastal resiliency.

Our local regulatory knowledge and proven state-of-the-science design techniques are leading the way for integrated water quality solutions.
