Institutional

AKRF serves the building and campus needs of academic, healthcare, and science institutions. We have worked with numerous public, charter, and private K-12 schools and early childhood centers, and maintain on-call agreements with the New York City School Construction Authority and Philadelphia School District. Recent milestones were celebrated for The Spence School, Marymount School of New York, and Bronx High School of Science.

AKRF has completed nearly 100 projects for 35 colleges and universities, including work with Columbia University, Howard University, Johns Hopkins University, New York University, Stony Brook University, The College of New Jersey, and Tulane University. Among numerous milestones for our projects, Manhattan College opened the Higgins Engineering and Science Center in 2021 and the new Columbia Business School opened in 2022.

Our healthcare projects range from skilled nursing facilities and outpatient healthcare clinics to major hospital buildings for Memorial-Sloan Kettering, New York-Presbyterian, NYU Langone, Northwell Health, Mount Sinai Health System, Penn Medicine, Jefferson University, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. AKRF has also provided environmental planning and related services for such major science campuses as the Alexandria Center for Life Science, Rockefeller University River Campus, and the New York Blood Center.
