Citi Field
Citi Field opened in 2009 as the new 41,000-seat home of the New York Mets in Queens, NY.
AKRF first prepared the CEQR Environmental Impact Statement to replace the existing Shea Stadium with a retractable-roof arena, the Notice of Completion for which was issued for in 2001. Our key analyses included transportation, air quality, noise, hazardous materials, and construction-related impacts.
AKRF proceeded to prepare the updated environmental assessment for an amended proposal to replace Shea Stadium with an open-air stadium. The project was approved and built as Citi Field, which opened in time for the 2009 baseball season.
