Flushing Meadows Corona Park is among New York City's most iconic public spaces, replete with historic walks, scenic trails, recreational facilities, and cultural and civic institutions.

AKRF and SCAPE worked with Waterfront Alliance to identify and develop plans for feasible NYC Parks capital projects to support resilience and non-capital spending strategies to improve resilience with an emphasis on community-based projects.

Our team was responsible for preparing a climate hazards assessment and climate vulnerability assessment, identifying potential green and grey infrastructure features that could be used to address flood and extreme heat resilience at the park, and developing recommendations.
