North/West Battery Park City Resiliency
The North/West Battery Park City Resiliency Project contemplates the creation of an integrated 1.4-mile coastal flood risk management system.
AKRF is supporting the Battery Park City Authority in the progressive design-build delivery of this project, which is intended to help protect northern and western portions of Battery Park City from the effects of storm surge and sea level rise.
We led preparation of the SEQRA/CEQR Environmental Impact Statement as part of a consultant team, supported waterfront permitting efforts, and have provided peer review services for the design and construction of critical infrastructure.
Project Information
Key technical analyses for the EIS included land use and coastal zone consistency, open space, historic architectural and archaeological resources, urban design and visual corridors natural resources, transportation systems, and construction period impacts.
