Developing a billion-dollar resiliency project along 2.4 miles of Manhattan coastline
Our engineers are well-versed in solving complex civil design and permitting challenges and providing objective and creative solutions to urban, suburban, and rural site development projects in a timely manner. Our experience is strengthened by our longstanding relationships with city, state, and federal agencies, as well as our understanding of applicable permitting rules and regulations. Knowing the ins and outs of regulatory agencies and their procedures enables us to identify and obtain permits to expedite projects and deliver results on time and on budget.
AKRF also provides infrastructure planning and design for roadways, parking, streetscape, and utility projects. Projects range from full roadway reconstruction to greenway to utility upgrades, including modifications to geometry, traffic signals, utility relocation, street lighting, curbs and sidewalks, street trees, and drainage improvements.
Sustainable site design is a hallmark of our work including green stormwater infrastructure and low-impact stormwater management design. We also perform construction-phase monitoring, inspection, and oversight, including crack and vibration monitoring.
