Approved in 2024, the Bronx Metro-North Station Area Plan complements four new Metro-North Railroad stations coming to the Bronx, NY.

The study identified strategies for building housing (nearly 7,000 homes, including 1,700 permanently income-restricted affordable housing units), encouraging job growth, promoting neighborhood retail, and incentivizing an improved public realm around the stations.

AKRF provided Uniform Land Use Review Procedure services and completed transportation and other technical analyses as part of the CEQR Environmental Impact Statement consultant team.

We prepared the ULURP application and map change drawings for a set of city map changes that will facilitate new open space, pedestrian access, improved street connections, and new development in connection with the Neighborhood Plan.

The proposed map changes include a new Morris Park Plaza to facilitate pedestrian access to the new station; widening of Marconi Street; mapping of a street volume to facilitate a future connection (bridge) between Marconi Street and Pelham Parkway; demapping of a portion of Unionport Road at the intersection with Guerlain Street; and mapping of a new street to facilitate development near 1601 Bronxdale Avenue.
