Bushkill Creek Greenway Master Plan
Adopted in 2026, the Bushkill Creek Greenway Master Plan envisions a linear corridor of parks and trails along the Bushkill Creek.
AKRF was part of the Omnes and Wildlands Conservancy master planning team working with Palmer Township, PA, throughout a study area encompassing approximately five miles of trails with links to over 1,600 miles of adjoining trails.
The Bushkill Creek Greenway is primarily centered in Palmer Township, with important connections to Tatamy Borough, Forks Township, and the City of Easton.

Protecting the Bushkill Creek from climate change impacts
Ed Confair and Megan Schmidt of AKRF led the climate resilience and adaptation assessment, planning, and recommendations for the plan, including an analysis of the watershed, hydrology, precipitation and flood projections, tree canopy benefits, water quality impairments, and additional ecological factors.
Our analysis was synthesized into trail and park improvement recommendations along the length of the greenway ultimately covering a half-dozen separate open spaces.
We also evaluated construction costs and ongoing operations and maintenance costs for the open spaces along the greenway.
