The South Battery Park City integrated coastal flood risk management system was completed in September 2026.

AKRF supported the Battery Park City Authority and its consultant team for this project encompassing four distinct areas: the Museum of Jewish Heritage, Wagner Park, Pier A Plaza, and The Battery.

Our work focused on cultural resources evaluation and consultation with the New York State Historic Preservation Office.

The new 3.5-acre public park fortifies the neighborhood against coastal flooding and provides a new green space and 1,200-square-foot Wagner Park Pavilion for community use.

Wagner Park has been elevated above the projected flood levels.
