Jamaica Neighborhood Plan
Approved by the New York City Council in October 2025, the Jamaica Neighborhood Plan will create approximately 12,000 new homes.
AKRF prepared the CEQR Environmental Impact Statement for the New York City Department of City Planning’s plan to rezone a 230-block area focused on Downtown Jamaica, industrial districts to the south and east, and portions of the neighborhood’s key corridors.
Our work included detailed analyses of socioeconomic conditions, community facilities, open space, historic resources, shadows, transportation, air quality, and more. This plan creates the largest Mandatory Inclusionary Housing zone in New York City to date.
