Alexandria's Master Stormwater Management Plan aims to eliminate nuisance flooding in the city’s historic waterfront area.

AKRF performed a peer technical review of the primary flood mitigation measures proposed for the waterfront, organized into three core topics: outfalls, bypass storm sewers, and local storm sewers; the structural bulkhead; and pump stations.

We prepared a critical assessment of the design approach and strategy, as well as a targeted review of key design calculations. This review included close coordination with City planners, landscape architects, and project engineers.
