Virginia Beach Flood Protection Program
Storm drainage strategies are being deployed to mitigate flooding issues in three Virginia Beach communities.
AKRF is part of the progressive design-build team retained by the City to improve stormwater management and relieve widespread flooding in Windsor Woods, Princess Anne Plaza, and The Lakes. Our work is focused on stormwater design and permitting.
These communities are located in what was once the undeveloped headwaters of the Lynnhaven River, and the project will design and construct more than one mile of flood barriers, multiple large tide gates, and extensive in-water solutions.
