Concrete Lining Completed for Delaware Aqueduct Bypass Tunnel

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection recently announced that work has been completed on the final concrete lining for the Delaware Aqueduct Bypass Tunnel – the largest repair project in the 179-year history of New York City’s water supply system, and the longest tunnel in the world. The Delaware Aqueduct supplies approximately half the water consumed in New York City every day. AKRF prepared the Environmental Impact Statement for the shafts and tunnel construction and the related federal, state, and local permits for this monumental billion-dollar infrastructure project.
