Construction Monitoring

AKRF provides a range of construction monitoring services for land development, transportation, and energy projects. Our firm has worked with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Mount Sinai Health System, Jefferson University Hospital, Barnard College, and other prestigious institutions, as well as organizations like the Waldorf Astoria and New York Islanders. AKRF provides pre- and post-construction surveys and construction-phase monitoring, inspection, and oversight, with a focus on noise/vibration, crack, optical, and environmental monitoring.

A member of the National Council of Acoustical Consultants, AKRF performs vibration monitoring and analytical studies to address a range of concerns and ensure vibration sources meet the needs and goals of our clients while complying with local, state, and federal regulations. We can go beyond merely providing data, and work with on-site construction personnel, ownership, and the design team to help interpret and troubleshoot noise and vibration issues that arise during monitoring.

For institutional, commercial, residential, and other types of buildings, our engineering team provides and installs crack monitors for areas of concern identified in the pre-construction survey, and records the monitored data throughout the duration of demolition and heavy construction activity. AKRF also develops optical settlement monitoring plans and manages their implementation in the field for construction sites undergoing underpinning, excavation, or demolition.

AKRF provides environmental monitoring during construction for the management of ecological restoration and conservation needs, as well as stormwater compliance and the remediation of hazardous materials.
