Green & Renewables

AKRF is contributing to a variety of green and renewable energy projects in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, including solar, onshore and offshore wind, battery storage, fuel cell, and biogas. We specialize in providing environmental and regulatory support for the planning, permitting, construction, and operation of power generation facilities, as well as transmission and distribution infrastructure and associated support facilities. We are considered among the consultants of choice to tackle a wide range of complex, controversial, and time-sensitive energy projects — and deliver solutions with substantial, measurable value.

AKRF is providing technical services for numerous onshore and offshore wind projects, including Atlantic Shores Wind, Beacon Wind, Empire Wind, Ocean Wind, Skipjack Wind, South Fork Wind, Sunrise Wind, and others. We are also engaged in landside support facilities, including the New Jersey Wind Port and Skipjack Wind Farm O&M Facility.

We prepared a screening level assessment of four sites in Maryland for a proposed solar energy facility and are providing civil engineering for a solar farm in New York. AKRF is leading the multimedia permitting for 100 MW and 300 MW energy storage facilities for two clients in New York City, and has led multi-site preliminary environmental screening and due diligence efforts for the planned development of stand-alone energy storage projects, including identifying the overall permitting framework.

We provided environmental permitting and consulting to FuelCell Energy for three utility-scale fuel cell projects in Suffolk County, and are providing environmental permitting services for proposed anaerobic digester and biogas facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
