Hudson Yards East Development

The Eastern Rail Yard half of the overall Hudson Yards development in West Midtown Manhattan spans from West 30th to West 33rd Streets between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues. Resting atop a 10-acre platform will be office and residential towers, The Shed cultural center, and extensive retail properties. AKRF prepared the air quality analysis and permitting efforts for a combined heat and power plant to be located on the retail podium. Our work included initial strategy planning to identify applicable emissions and permitting regulations, required air quality dispersion studies, and preparation of New York State and New York City permit applications and registrations. The NYSDEC state facility permit application included conditions to limit emissions of oxides of nitrogen below major source thresholds and was issued on schedule. The power plant and other equipment are currently being installed.
