Designing an 8-mile trail to experience the Hudson River and Highlands
Municipal & Land Planning
Our planners provide a range of services to public and private clients. We work with local, county, and state governments to prepare and review SEQRA related documents; review site and subdivision applications; write and revise zoning codes; prepare and update land use, comprehensive, recreation, open space, local waterfront revitalization, and farmland protection plans; prepare economic impact analyses; and apply for grants to support community initiatives.
On the private side, our planners work with commercial and residential real estate developers, not-for-profit housing groups, and land trusts to support development, conservation, recreation, and transportation-related projects from site selection and due diligence through entitlements.
AKRF serves its clients from the planning and design of community gateways and village/town centers, to the adaptive reuse of vacant or underutilized properties, to the preparation of smart and sustainable comprehensive plans. Utilizing a strong public participation process, we work closely with our clients to ensure that our product addresses the needs of the decision-makers and the community. No matter the scale of the assignment, our planners focus on defining the project objectives and achieving desired outcomes.
