Margaret Hopkins, PE

Margaret combines engineering and planning expertise for climate resiliency and disaster recovery work, which encompasses flood resiliency project design, community asset inventories, risk assessment, and environmental review of resiliency projects pursuant to local, state, and federal requirements.

She is the project manager for the design of East Side Coastal Resiliency, managing the environmental review of the North/West Battery Park City Resiliency Project, managed environmental studies for the New York State Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery, and conducted the environmental review of resilient technology implementation projects in coastal communities as part of RISE:NYC.

Margaret is a member of the City of Richmond’s Green City Commission and the RVAgreen 2050 Environmental Working Group, and frequently presents on resiliency design at industry conferences and events. She has also lectured on urban flood risk and coastal resiliency at Columbia University and Brooklyn College. In 2021, Margaret was named a Professional Women in Construction New York “20 Under 40” honoree.
