Lisa M. Lau, AICP, is a Senior Vice President at AKRF with over 20 years of experience in the management of environmental assessments.
Ms. Lau has extensive experience managing a wide range of projects for review pursuant to the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and New York City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR). As Project Manager, she has led the preparation of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and other studies for some of the most ambitious projects in New York City. These include numerous health care and institutional projects for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Montefiore Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill-Cornell Medical Center, New York University Langone Medical Center, Jewish Home Lifecare, Convent of the Sacred Heart, Dalton School, Grace Church School, Little Red Schoolhouse/Elisabeth Irwin High School, and Trinity School. She also has successfully guided private development projects through the approvals process for clients including The Durst Organization, Boston Properties, Glenwood Management, and The Related Companies.
Ms. Lau holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College, an M.U.P. from New York University, and an M.S. in Transportation Planning and Engineering from Polytechnic University. Her background as a traffic engineer brings added value to her management expertise. Ms. Lau is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and served as Treasurer of the American Planning Association’s New York Metro Chapter from 2008 to 2012.
