Opening a new outpatient facility on Long Island for Memorial Sloan Kettering

In 2019, Memorial Sloan Kettering celebrated the opening of a $1.5 billion, 750,000-square-foot cancer treatment facility in Manhattan. AKRF prepared the Environmental Impact Statement, consulted on transportation circulation and sound attenuation, and provided site assessment/remediation services. The outpatient facility occupies 25 floors with 231 exam rooms, 110 infusion rooms, 37 procedure rooms, and 16 inpatient beds. In 2020, the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care was named the Engineering-News Record Top Healthcare Project, received honorable mention for a Fast Company Innovation by Design Award, and won a Showcase Award of Merit from Healthcare Design Magazine.
