Jewish Theological Seminary Expansion

The Jewish Theological Seminary – among the preeminent institutions of Jewish higher-education, training, and professional development – is undergoing a significant academic and residential expansion of its Morningside Heights campus in Manhattan. Students moved into a new 144-bed residence hall in 2019, and other elements of the project are nearing completion. The full program includes an atrium, classrooms, a two-story library, and a 200-seat auditorium. AKRF prepared the Construction Protection Plan and performed construction monitoring for the expansion project. We also provided geotechnical engineering support for rock excavation up to approximately 30 feet below sidewalk elevation.
